Alameda will host the first East Bay Pip Squeak A Go Go! event. The Devil-Ettes, San Francisco's premier 60s style go go dance group will bring a dance party for kids and parents alike. Live music will also provided by Frances England and Cowboy Jared.
The event is also a benefit for Cure JM Foundation, which seeks a cure for Juvenile Myositis (JM). It is a rare autoimmune disease that affects approximately 5,000 children in the United States. JM attacks children of all ages, causing a variety of debilitating symptoms including: muscle weakness and pain, severe fatigue, lung and heart problems etc.
Medication can help to alleviate the symptoms of JM, but there is no known cure. Two little girls in Alameda, one of them named Mielle, are fighting the disease. So come with your children and dance a go go and help raise money to find a cure.
